The story behind this turkey is simply amazing. It's
a late season Tom taken in May of 2005. We used an old
taxidermied Tom
as a decoy, along with a hen. Kevin called this gobbler in
from about a quarter mile away very early in the morning.
When the Tom saw the decoy Tom he went straight to it and
attacked it! He beat it with his wing, spurred it even
pecked it. The poor decoy
would have been in real trouble if Stewart hadn't shot the
attacker! What a sight to see - and what a job calling by
the Double K's
